Spur L Mercantile began as a personal journey—a response to the frustration of dry, sensitive skin and the harmful ingredients found in everyday products. What started in a small Texas kitchen quickly grew into a passion for crafting simple, effective skincare made with purpose. Inspired by a desire to live cleaner and care for her family naturally, our founder created nourishing formulas that friends and neighbors began to trust and love.

Meet The Owner

Lydia Bierschwale-Luce

Lydia is a born-and-raised Mason, Texas native with a lifelong love for rodeo, hard work, and carving her own path. Her entrepreneurial spirit showed early on, always fueled by a desire to create something meaningful and rooted in purpose. When she began struggling with extreme dry skin, the solutions she found on store shelves weren’t cutting it. Determined to find a better, more natural option, she dove into researching home remedies and stumbled upon tallow—a nutrient-dense, skin-compatible fat known for its powerful moisturizing properties.

Curious and driven, Lydia began experimenting with different oil blends and natural ingredients in her own kitchen. After many trials (and a whole lot of note-taking), she perfected her signature hand and body cream—the very product that sparked the creation of Spur L Mercantile. What started as a personal remedy quickly became something her friends and family couldn’t live without.

Today, Lydia continues to handcraft every product with intention, keeping things clean, simple, and honest—just the way skincare should be.
